"Region Viewer" displays a graphical representation\n\
of the region you clicked on in gmemusage's Process\n\
Breakdown view.\n\
\n\
Each bar in the chart to the left depicts a page in\n\
the region.  The bars are color coded according to\n\
the legend above the chart.  Pages colored "Invalid"\n\
have not been referenced by the process since Region\n\
Viewer was started, pages colored "Resident" are\n\
currently in memory, and pages colored "Paged Out" have\n\
been removed from memory by the operating system but will\n\
be brought back if the process refers to them again.  Only\n\
pages that were paged out while Region Viewer was running\n\
will show up as paged out.  Pages that were paged out before\n\
Region Viewer started will show up as being invalid.\n\
\n\
Pages colored "Zapped" have been marked as invalid by\n\
Region Viewer for the purposes of studying how program\n\
usage affects memory usage (see below).\n\
\n\
Click on a page and Region Viewer will attempt to display\n\
the symbols defined on that page in the text area\n\
to the right.\n\
\n\
The "Zoom In" and "Zoom out" buttons make the bars\n\
bigger and smaller respectively.  When you zoom in,\n\
use the scroll bar to access all the pages.  If the\n\
bars are big enough, the address of each page is\n\
displayed to the left of each page.  If the bars are\n\
too small, you will not be able to see individual pages.\n\
"Zoom In" to see individual pages in this situation.\n\
\n\
The "Zap" button marks all the pages in the current\n\
region "Zapped".  Subsequently, you can see which pages\n\
are used during an operation of the software you are\n\
monitoring by seeing which pages make the transistion from\n\
"Zapped" to "Resident" during that operation.\n\
\n\
The "Detach" button detaches Region Viewer from gmemusage\n\
so that gmemusage will run another Region Viewer to show\n\
subsequent regions, leaving this Region Viewer alone.
