d082297902 base-files: relink uclibc and libgcc libraries to remove leftovers of the statically linked initial libgcc 
saves a few kb and gets rid of unused not exported functions as well
should also improve the reliability of mklibs

e593f00fc1 [PATCH 2/2] Send ipkg-make-index.sh output to stdout 
The "Generating index for package" created by ipkg-make-index only
clutter stderr and serve to push previous warnings/errors off-screen.
Instead, send to stdout.

Note:  This would send incorrect invocation messages to stdout as well.
If this is a concern, perhaps we could send them to FD 3, then send 3 to
2...

cac91fedd5 base-files: librt should depend on libpthread, not the other way around 
In uClibc 0.9.32 as well as recent versions of glibc and eglibc, librt
depends on libpthread.

d1c117a8ef soloscli: allow user to apply settings to solos h/w before bringing up network (patch by Philip Prindeville) 
If the network/wan configuration contains "solos0" ... "solos3" then this list of strings will be applied to the FPGA when the hardware is hotplug added.

The syntax should be "tag=value", as per the values enumerated in the solos-attr.c list.

In the canned example, the modem is temporarily turned off, told to detect noise, told to disable annexes M and A (effectively putting it into pure ADSL mode), and re-activated.

There's probably a more appropriate function name than "dialog" but that's what I came up with.

Handle other ATM hardware (Eagle, etc) besides solos-pci.

a76eddd489 ath: fix world regulatory domain fix-up so that all regulatory rules are processed 
r24503 (trunk) and r24505 (backfire) revised the regulatory rules used
for the ath drivers' world regulatory domains in the 5GHz band by
opening up channels 36, 40, 44, and 48 to being used without the
*_PASSIVE_SCAN and *_NO_IBSS flags set. This was done by breaking
ATH9K_5GHZ_5150_5350 into two REG_RULES. The various struct
ieee80211_regdomains that reference these rules in their reg_rules
fields need to have their n_reg_rules fields updated accordingly.

0bc290370e [package]: block-extroot: Fixed the functionality that disables the extroot after a firmware upgrade (which is necessary because of possible kernel version or uClibc version conflicts). It was implented but actually failed to disable extroot when it should have. This commit fixes that.

756a2e2526 cron: Add path 
Override PATH for /etc/init.d/cron. This is necessary to ensure all programs
can be found when executing the script from remote by using ssh.
(e.g. ssh IP /etc/init.d/cron restart)

10b359c8c9 mac80211: Improve ath5k/ar71xx PCI bug WAR 
It has been confirmed by Atheros that this PCI bug affects the RX side only,
so we can keep the 128B DMA size for TX.

With this change we can double the thruput of ath5k from 15Mps to 30Mbps.

We have been using this patch since more than 6 month in a production
environment without problems and a significant performance improvement.

It has also been said to fix HW encryption:

f0d9d1c41e hostapd: Create one control interface per virtual bssid 
Previously hostapd created one control interface /var/run/hostapd-phyX
which only contained the first virtual bssid (for example wlan0). In
order to access the other virtual bssids with hostapd_cli add all
virtual bssids to /var/run/hostapd-phyX by specifying the ctrl_interface
parameter per bssid.

Previously the control interface looked like:
	/var/run/hostapd-phyX/wlan0

Now, the control interface looks like this:
	/var/run/hostapd-phyX/wlan0
	/var/run/hostapd-phyX/wlan1
	...

612cc293e1 Added OpenWRT-specific field to imagetag so that we can record the real root length, so that when the CRC fixup is applied and the root length is recorded as zero we can still calculate the rootfs mtd partition size.

449cb3140d mtd: Added trx_fixup for brcm63xx imagetag, and made references to fix_trx use the weak reference rather than the brcm47xx ifdef. This fixes a bug in which sysupgrade failed due to changing bad CRC on reboot.

76e5e7f14f hostapd: Allow rsn_preauth configuration 
Hostapd can allow preauthentication for WPA2-EAP networks when
the interfaces through which preauthentication is allowed are
configured.

Add a new param "rsn_preauth=0/1" to the configuration that enables
or disables preauthentication on the according bridge interface.

Preauthentication for unbridged networks is not considered in this
patch.

18dddc5fe8 [packages] libtool: I don't know what crackhead thought that relinking with /usr/lib during cross compilation is a good idea, so just remove this crap. 
It should solve a few instances of "/usr/lib/libc.a: could not read symbols: File format not recognized" when building stuff.

9f21ce48c3 mac80211: cfg80211 should not depend on rfkill. 
If rfkill is build as an module CONFIG_RFKILL_MODULE is set and cfg80211 will also depend on that.
Now all modules build from compat-wireless will not use rfkill.

9e660acd6b [PATCH] Package dnsmasq init-file 
If an already running DHCP-server is found on
the configured interface, the init-script refuses
to start, but does not give a hint why. It took us
some days to track down this behavior in our MANET,
where every wifi/adhoc-node runs it own DHCP-server.
Now syslog is more verbose on this.

41c3c2f348 wireless: build hermes packages from compat-wirelessand not from the kernel. 
hermes now depends on cfg80211 and that is provided by compat-wireless, so the hermes driver should also be taken from that source.
